Extreme mail service
Staying where we were in Missouri, Stan and I were a little worried about the address that we had given for our mail delivery. There was a little post office right across the road from us so I decided to go over and see if it was sitting on the shelf somewhere. When I explained to the post master, he said that it wouldn't have been delivered to our address but would have been held up at the other post office in town, a mile up the road. He told me that if I didn't have a chance to collect it, he would bring it down in the morning and I could pick it up there. Later that day Stan and I decided to make the walk up the hill to town and see if our mail was there so off we went. We were within a block of the post office when I heard my name called. I turned around and there was the postmaster, holding our mail out the window to me!! He had seen us going by and realized that we wouldn't make it by 4:00 (when it closes) so he went up, got it, tracked us down and hand delivered it! I call that beyond the call of duty. Nice, yes?
