Moving Day

I should really call it moving week. I cannot believe how much stuff we accumulated in 2 months! Mostly the dreaded paper. Please tell me why everything in your life has to be documented 10 different ways? So here I am, sitting in front of the window of our new home, looking out over the lights of Santa Barbara. It's small but very sweet. We even have a dog when we want who lives next door with our landlady, Lori. I think this will be a good base to work from while we go through the process of rebuilding. Naturally, after a dry month it rained on the days we were moving but hey! we won't melt.

Making Plans

Now that we're pretty cleaned up and the holidays are about over, we are starting to work on the plans for our new house on our old site. If we could build it out of paper, we would have everything we need! I can't believe the amount of paper work involved in our lives. Does everyone generate that much? I think we just added another trail with computers. Maybe it's so we have something to do at four in the morning. I regress.... There is a certain amount of excitement in thinking about building a new house. One pencil and a few pieces of paper (there it is again) can take you anywhere. In the end it all has to work but meanwhile it's fun to play. The blank slate awaits.

2009 What's it gonna be?

Wow, 2008 went fast. It was full of experiences, right to the end. Things don't always go the way you expect but I'm so glad they keep going. Wishing everyone a year to savor.

Sunrise

You've seen the amazing winter sunsets. Now it's time to check out the sunrise, Santa Barbara style.
